This second year module in Economic History and Development Studies focuses on the Southern African region and is aimed at helping students acquire the capacity to understand analytical arguments and a broad knowledge of modern economic development in this region of the African continent. Its central theme is on the experience of capitalism in this region with special attention paid to the integration of the region in the global economy.
