Students taking this module will be introduced to the theory and practice of Research and Service-Learning. The knowledge developed is transformative in nature, authentic, relevant and contextually based. Learning and working in partnership with communities raises problem-solving actions and initiatives for people and placement site enhancements with students in service as groups (two per project), working together. The module entails an understandings of self and others, in service with biologically focused interventions, developing values and attitudes for researching your Service-Learning.  

An exciting innovation is introduced in this module - gamification (the use of games), mindfulness and well-being: Research and Service-Learning with a difference. Students will be taken on a journey within, where a self-inquiry process towards self-belief is engaged with in order for them to develop self-leadership, which is authentic and distinguished by integrity.
